Interim Report of May Production

Well I thought that April was a busy month for painting, with 62 Olley points done. So far in May (half-way through the month) I have done 106 Olley points, all Victorian Colonial figures. Wow! They have been:

12 Pathan cavalry (24 points)
13 British gunners (13)
12 British hussars and 9 dismounts (33)
1 British mounted staff officer (2)
12 Indian Bengal lancers and 9 dismounts (33)
1 Indian mounted staff officer (repaint of rider only) (1)

So all the Victorian Colonial figures that I need for my game tomorrow (May 16) are now painted. Whew!

I'll be posting some pictures of the new units and of the game sometime next week.

I've got another game (in the mini-campaign in the North Central Frontier of Aooghastan) in two weeks (May 30). For that game I need a "fortress" for the Anglo-Indian punitive expedition to assault. I think the next two weeks will be totally absorbed in designing and building the "Fortress" of Khalaam, the lair of the wily Emir Tubier of the Haddabiera tribe.

Hopefully all of the effort of painting will inspire them to win. Can't wait to see them!

(I love your names - "Aooghastan" = LOL)

I'll look forward to your report and pics!

Having a goal like a particular game can hlep focus painting energies. Another thing that helps is a change of pace occasionally or something to pique your interest. So I'll paint something new and different like a pair of giraffes between doing regular troops, or maybe paint some old fantasy minis that have been sitting around for a while. Then toss in some terrain building every now and then. Variety - spicy stuff. :-)

Unfortunately both the 10th Hussars and the 10th Bengal Lancers troops were shot to pieces by "Johnny Haddabiera" in the battle yesterday. :^(
